  •    Air pressure is due to the weight of the air and is determined by several factors including the temperature of the air.

  • A RAIN GAUGE is used to measure the amount of precipitation.

  • Stratus- Flat, smooth, gray clouds that cover the whole sky. (Light rain and drizzle; low in the sky)

  • Cirrus- Feathery, fibrous clouds; associated with fair weather.  They often indicate that rain or snow will fall within hours. (High in the sky)

  • Cumulus-Fluffy, white clouds with flat bottoms.  Cumulus clouds usually indicate fair weather. (Middle)
