Three 8th-graders competed in the Tidewater Regional Science Fair: Quinn Bradshaw, in behavioral science; Rachel Bradshaw in environmental analysis; and Jacob Chappell in chemistry.

Sixth-grader Brittany Brooks represented the school in the Virginian-Pilot's first annual regional spelling bee. |

Sydney Folsom, Matthew Jones, Devon Dunston and Zachary Warner represented Forest Glen in the All-City Band. |

Katie Mitchell and Lonnie Sessoms represented FGMS at the All-District Chorus competition. |

100 percent of the school's orchestra students reached the level to perform in the All-City Strings. Tyler Mizelle represented FGMS in the regional orchestra. |

The Junior Beta Club collected funds for United Way and supported the local homeless shelter, Toys for Tots, Military Mail Call, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. |

The Virginia Standards of Learning
(SOLs) are a framework of basic skills students in each grade
level should learn in English, math, science, social studies,
and technology.
The SOL tests are given each
spring to measure students' success in meeting these state
standards. State benchmarks for 2007 is a 70 percent pass rate in all subjects.
